What is CBD?
CBD - Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant's extract. CBD is considered to have a wide scope of potential medical applications – due to clinical reports showing the lack of side effects, particularly a lack of psychoactivity (as is typically associated with THC), and non-interference with several psychomotor learning and psychological functions.

The Differences Between THC & CBD
You probably have heard of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (Cannabidiol), the two most notable cannabinoids in cannabis. While they may have similar chemical structure, they have very different properties.
THC is psychoactive. CBD is antipsychotic.
THC is what gets you high in cannabis. By contrast, not only is CBD non-psychoactive but it is also antipsychoactive. It prevents users from getting too high and reduces psychosis-like effects of THC. CBD is being tested as a medicine for people with schizophrenia.
THC may induce anxiety. CBD reduces anxiety.
While it is known that THC may cause anxiety or paranoia, CBD is believed to have the opposite effects. Studies have shown that CBD can reduce both anxiety on its own and anxiety caused by THC.
THC causes drowsiness. CBD promotes wakefulness.
On one hand, THC is thought to be responsible for the sleep-inducing effects of cannabis. On the other hand, CBD promotes wakefulness.
